Does Rootpup ever hold my money?
No. Rootpup reads your bank activity through Open Banking so we can spot when you save. Your money stays at your own bank the entire time. We are not a bank and we do not need to become one.
What does the pup grow from?
Real saving actions: putting money in savings, spare-change round-ups, staying inside your budget, cancelling unused subscriptions, hitting a Sprout goal. Every one feeds the pet. Nothing about spending grows the pup, ever.
Can I really pay for a family plan?
Yes. Family Roots covers two adults and up to four children on one subscription. Parents approve chores, kids earn pocket money, everyone contributes to one shared pet.
How much will Rootpup cost?
The core solo app will always have a free tier. Family Roots (the family plan) will be £6.99 a month or £59.99 a year. Optional cosmetic items in the shop can be bought with real money, but nothing you buy speeds up your pet's growth.
When can I actually use it?
UK invite-only beta opens in Q1-Q2 2027. Public UK launch later in 2027. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment invites are ready.
What about my children's data?
The child experience is age-gated, ad-free and complies with the UK ICO Children's Code. No third-party analytics on child accounts, ever. Parents see everything.
